I am a History PhD student (focus: American Political Culture) at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. My family lives in the greater Houston, Texas region and I have previously lived in San Antonio, Texas and the Wichita, Kansas area.
I am obsessed with many fandoms. The old standbys are Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones. Others pop in and out but currently include BBC Radio (esp. Cabin Pressure), The West Wing, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Highlander, The Monkees, Jeeves and Wooster, Hogan's Heroes, and Rick Riordan's Olympians series. I love to read and spend most of my free time reading anything I can get my hands on including novels, comics, and lots of fanfiction. I don't read many nonfiction books for fun as I get enough of that professionally and readings news and blogs. I also write my own fanfiction. Of course, being in a doctoral program doesn't leave me with as much free time as I would like so my output is sporadic at best.
I use this journal for many different things. It is a place for me to share my daily life with my friends and stay connected with them through their blogs, it allows me to archive and organize my own fan fiction, and it allows me to slowly learn CSS coding through trial and error. If the factual and fictional ramblings of a sci fi and fantasy obsessed history grad student sound at all interesting, I suggest you seek professional help. Until said help arrives, you've found the right place to hang out.
