I'm done!!

My last paper of the semester is DONE!!!!!!

Party time! That or fall into bed out of complete exhaustion.

My plans for the next few days include: replying to the comments that have come in on my metamorfic_moon fic in the past week or so (sorry it has taken so long!); writing a Remus and Hermione conversation that has been bouncing around in the back of my brain for the past few weeks driving me batty because I've had no time to flesh it out; putting together my book lists for the comprehensive exams; packing; flying to Virginia; going for a very long hike to stretch out muscles that are rather stiff after over a month of sitting and working on papers approximately 15 hours a day; glancing at the rt_challenge prompts and hopefully writing some stuff there; cleaning my apartment and organizing school supplies. Too bad I only have a week for all that before I'll have to start serious studying for my comps. With any luck, I'll be able to organize a schedule for that where I only work maybe 12 hours a day and manage a day or two completely off every week. We shall see. In the meantime, I bring you memeage:

What Fantasy Archetype Are you?

The Seasoned Veteran Friend
You are the Seasoned Veteran Friend! You resemble Aragorn (Lord of The Rings), Merlin (Arthurian Legend), Han Solo (Star Wars), The Marquis (Neverwhere), Sirius Black (Harry Potter) and Chase (Wizard's First Rule). You are exceedingly loyal, tricky and hardy. You regularly pull the Unlikely Hero, Mentor and Pillor-of-Strength Love Interest out of trouble and into safety. Beware The Traitor, who will make your job intensely difficult. And don't coddle the Unlikely Hero too much, he has to learn how to fend for himself. Anyway, everyone admires you and your resourcefullness / reliability - good going!

Big surprise: I think Remus is as much an example of the Seasoned Veteran Friend as is Sirius. He's totally got the balance of helping the Unlikely Hero find his own path to success without coddling him too much. Not to mention the loyal, tricky, hardy, resourceful, reliable, etc. Oh, and wouldn't Merlin be a Mentor not a Seasoned Veteran Friend? I'm assuming Dumbledore is the Harry Potter Mentor, Obi-Wan the Star Wars one, and Gandalf the LotR one and they are all cast in the Merlin mold to a degree. Hmmm...
Oh so happy but oh so tired!
Feeling: Oh so happy but oh so tired!
Exploring: couch
Listening: Everyone's asleep; the tick-tock of the clock seems louder

Congratulations! That must be a big relief.

I am oh so excited! And I know that the next time I have to write a paper is in mid March. Of course, that will be 4 20 page papers in 4 or 5 days, but March is such a long way from now.

Congrats on finishing! :D

Happy New Year to you, too.

I got a text message from Parama wishing me a happy new year.

I vote for falling into bed. You deserve a nice rest.

Congrats on finishing!

PS - did you get that cute 6-pack from the pound puppy pic? ;)
bratty_jedi at 3:27 pm on 03 January 2007 (UTC) (Link)
Nope. We never could corral six dogs into sitting still when they were all in the same room, let alone within a camera frame.

I think we have some of the litter of 6 when they were literally puppies floating around somewhere. They don't include my two who are the momma and the papa, but that is probably the best we'll manage without tranquilizers.

The fact that you mentioned tranks makes me wonder if you considered the idea. lol

I know I have... ;)
bratty_jedi at 3:40 pm on 03 January 2007 (UTC) (Link)
Now would I ever consider something like that? *bats eyelashes innocently*

The question is not so much 'would you?' as 'would they be for you or the dogs?' ;)

Considering I was still trying to finish papers at the time, I honestly don't know. On the one hand, it might have been easier to write without them being so cute and demanding tummy rubs or being so annoying and walking over my laptop keyboard. On the other hand, do you suppose "I was unconscious for three days due to a tranquilizer mishap" would have been a sufficient excuse for not finishing?

Yes. As long as it was accompanied by an authinticated note from your vet - er, doctor. ;)

My uncle is a doctor. Do you suppose a note from him would work?

Ignoring the fact that his doctorate is a PhD in engineering...
