Death by Plotbunny

Tags: ,
I seriously think my shrivelfig/Forbidden Forest/Mystery or Suspense/Day of Confusion plot bunny is going to be the death of me...

First, it decided to come to me while I was trying to cook, causing me to burn my lunch. It is clearly trying to starve me to death.

Second, it nearly made me miss getting off the bus. I usually walk but since I'm still limping a little from my tumble that bruised/cut my knee last week, I've been taking the bus. I was writing out some dialog on a notepad and almost missed my stop. Not sure how this would have killed me, but I'm certain the bunny had something in mind.

Now, I am supposed to be working on reading my Inca book that should have been finished yesterday if I were on schedule or working on my 10 page paper due Wednesday. Instead I've spent the last hour unsuccessfully attempting to name four characters. If I don't get my HW done, it will be a race to see who gets the privilege of killing me. It wouldn't be so bad if I was doing something productive like writing the story. An hour looking for names is just a waste.

Any suggestions for the names, by the way? I need a seven-year-old girl, her three-year-old brother, and two bad guys (brothers).

Current suggestions on the table after talking to one of my friends:
Girl: Celeste, Matilda, Chastity, Patience, Mercy
Boy: Robert, Toast, Ryan, Orion
Badguy 1: Franz, Fritz, Humphrey
Badguy 2: Gunther, Luigi, Jorge
After getting her suggestions, I've officially decided kelbrenn should never be allowed to name anything. Anybody else?

I like Matilda and Robert for the children.

As for the bad guys....

Hmmm. Not sure any of those strike a note of fear for me. How about something like Charles and Edward? They're pretty standard, but you could evil them up with an inventive surname?

I have half the history grad students thinking of names for me. Timothy is the new favorite for the boy (anything is better than Toast) and Fritz and Gunther are winning for the bad guys.

I have entirely personal problems with Timothy, since that was the name of my aunt's dog, so whenever someone says 'Timothy' I picture a great big cuddly labrador. I like Tom and Jack for a boy, though.

My only issue with Fritz and Gunther would be if they were supposed to be English, since I've never met one of either. If you've imported bad guys from another neck of the woods, though, they could work.

When I first started reading your comment, I was expecting you to say Timothy was an insane ex or something. Dog makes it funnier.

I haven't actually got to writing the bad guys yet. I suppose if I name them Fritz and Gunther they would kind of have to be German. I can work with that.

And of course I just remembered that I've never met a Remus or a Nymphadora either, so my objection doesn't really stand.

Fritz and Gunther is good, yah?

I'll be in the corner doing really bad German accents if anyone wants me....

I like Isabelle or Annabelle for the girl, and I've always been partial to Marcus.

How do you feel about Adriana for the girl?

I like Adriana, that's a lovely name. And I'm dead interested in your story from the discussion of the names. :D

I suspect it should be fairly easy to guess the basic identity of the kids (who are currently Adriana and Orion). It's Fritz and Gunther who should really worry you. At least, they're the ones who have me worried...

"What's that, Lassie? Timmy fell in the well?"
Sorry, Timmy (Timothy) inspires images for me, lol.
Also dog related, oddly enough.

Hm, names... I don't know about the kids, but I would really love to have Hans and Franz as the bad guys. "We will PUMP you up!"
Well, they were bad, lol ;)

It's official, no Timothy! You and jdbracknell have sufficiently scared me away from that one.

Names

I think Verity would be a good one for the girl.
Maybe for the boy David or Robert
And its always fun to have bad guys beginning with 's' so Sven or Samuel, maybe Thomas (wait that starts with a 'T').

Anyway i hope they've been some sort of use.
