Apologies to all for not participating in the majority of the metamorfic_moon discussions this week or commenting on posts in general. I have been reading friends' postings (though I just noticed jdbracknell's latest didn't show up on my friends page and now I'm worried that I missed others) but just haven't had the time to reply. I spent Monday and Tuesday organizing paperwork to file a claim with the state to try to get compensation for my property that was trashed by the college. Because of that, I got behind in my homework and have been desperately attempting to catch up ever since. I'm almost back on track, though spending this morning volunteering at the local elementary school, this afternoon going grocery shopping and getting my car washed, and this evening making a casserole that will be dinner for the next week and doing laundry is just putting me behind, again. Hopefully I'll be able to get fully caught up before the end of this weekend.

On the positive side, fall has come to Williamsburg. It is absolutely gorgeous out at the moment with the sun shining and a nice cool breeze. There is a huge park not far from here with miles of hiking, biking, and horse riding trails. I never go during the summer because the hiking trails cross swamp land and Virginia swamps with their summer mosquitoes will kill you. Now that it is cooling off, I'm planning to go again on Sunday and I can't wait! Of course, taking 2.5 or 3 hours off (counting drive time) to hike 5 miles won't help much with the whole behind on HW thing, but it will greatly improve my grasp on what little sanity I have remaining.

I had hoped the season premier of Grey's Anatomy would help with the sanity issue. I am trying Studio 60 this year, but all of last year there were three things I watched on my TV: movies, San Antonio Spurs basketball games, and Grey's Anatomy. The premier was Thursday night while I was in class. I wasn't worried because I set my DVD player to record. I got home 20 minutes before the end of the show and my roommate (who is also addicted to that show) had the TV off and was in her room. I was confused but before I had a chance to do anything, she opened her door and informed me that the cable was not working. We had nothing but static on every channel. I was annoyed, she was even madder. Apparently she had a really bad day yesterday and the only thing that got her through was the expectation of Grey's Anatomy. The premier episode is supposedly showing again tonight and Liz and I plan to watch it (the cable is magically working again) so all should be right with the world soon.

If I can get a few articles read for school tonight, and over half of a book on Aztec culture and human sacrifice read tomorrow, I'll get the notes posted for the werewolf lecture. Also, mrstater has betad part one of my four part fic but I am undecided about posting it right now. I can't guarantee when I'll get to the rest of it, especially with the metamorfic_moon ficathon next month. Plus my parents will be coming to town for a week in October (Yeah! I haven't seen them this since May which is a long time given how close my family is). Is it better to post a chapter when it is done giving people something to read even though they might have to wait forever for the rest, or hold it all until there is some certainty of posting pieces in a timely manner?

EDIT: jdbracknell and others are back on the friends page. Still not sure what went wrong, but apparently it is working again.

I don't know how you keep up with your schedule...
I really don't. That's the problem. The main way I try is just by having a very strict schedule where I have certain amounts of HW that must be done each day. As soon as I get that day's work done, I goof off the rest of the day, and if it doesn't get done, I'm in trouble.

The werewolf lecture was entertaining. The prof. giving it was absolutely hilarious!
