So bad, it's good! (Classic Who)

I've been watching some Classic Doctor Who, largely determined by what I can access legally for free or very cheap. I watched Tomb of the Cybermen today, which is widely agreed to be one of the best story lines. I agree with the consensus that it is very good overall and recommend it to any Nu Who fans wanting to try Classic Who. I've generally liked the Second Doctor stuff I've seen, but with one line here he may have made himself my favorite ever.

Fair warning: y'all know I'm a complete sucker for bad puns, right?

Feeling: giggly
Exploring: Living Room
Listening: Doctor Who on the TV

Ouch! I got a friend to lend me a selection of OldWho and this was one of my favourites- I loved the cybermats!

Ouch! I know. It's so bad!

The cybermats are awesome. Seeing this definitely made me appreciate a couple of NuWho episodes more.

I LOVE Two and Jamie, absolutely love them. Tomb of the Cybermen has two of my favorite old!Who scenes. One, when the cybermen start waking up and Jamie takes one look and RUNS for the exit (because it's so refreshing to see a companion who looks at evil menacing creatures approaching, calculates the odds and decided getting the hell out of there is the best bet) and the other, when they (Two, Jamie and Victoria) are outside the tomb and the guys 'accidently' grab each other's hand (which was planned out by the actors and done in a way it couldn't be cropped out of shot on purpose).

I haven't seen much Two (and Jamie) but my reaction after this is "MUST HAVE MORE!" of both of them so once I get said more I'll probably be right there with you on absolutely loving them.

Thanks to the moronic policies at the BBC in the '70s a LOT of their serials are missing, unfortunately. A bunch have been recreated using the audios (which still exist) and promotional photos, it doesn't quite work (since an audio fic would have mentioned movements and described things like that) but at least it's something. You can find a bunch here, just go back a few pages.

Two and Jamie seem wonderful from the bits and pieces I know. I definitely want more of them!
