Trashed Stuff: The Apartment SUCKS!

Tags:
I tried emailing the director of my apartment complex and a few other on-campus apartment complexes. Since they have been giving me the run around about trying to contact housekeeping to see if any of my stuff was put someplace other than the dumpster, I basically said that if nothing has been found by now it is safe to assume nothing will be found and I want to talk about replacing my stuff.

His reply was that he is still trying to get in touch with housekeeping (how hard can it freakin' be?) and that anything that was trashed was assumed abandoned property and trashed done so according to my contract. Translation: they aren't going to reimburse me for squat.

I emailed him back informing him that the contract is well and good except that I hadn't yet checked out of that apartment so my stuff could not be considered abandoned and should not have been trashed. The stipulation regarding abandoned property does not apply to someone still living in an apartment!

We shall see what he has to say but right now I am pissed, not expecting much by way of results, and am planning on finding out who I have to go to over this guy's head because this just isn't right.

On two unrelated notes

I got my hair cut yesterday. It is still long (to my shoulder blades) but is probably the shortest it has been in 10 years. I also had layers done so it is much lighter and the front layers are definitely the shortest my hair has been since I stopped wearing bangs in middle school.

There has been little to no improvement on the N. of the Week story. I swear it will get done but it has been a long time since my life was this hectic! For example, right now I have to go help move furniture up at school (that is what I get for being an officer in the History Grad Student Association).

EDIT: I also have two parties to plan right now: the History Department Welcome Back party that should be this Friday and my Harry Potter Party on Saturday. Anyone who will be in the Williamsburg, VA area on Saturday can come!
livid, again!

Ugh, that totally is not right. So sorry they're still being ridiculous about it.

Do you know what else I hope? That your schedule decides to let you write chocolate powder smut. :)

It will. A new Star Wars book comes out tomorrow. I have forbidden myself to read it until I finish that bloody story. It is amazing what I will do for a new Star Wars book.

On a side note that I almost forgot, I haven't had time to read your new piece yet. I promise I'll get to it. I did see your new color scheme, however, and rather like it. I enjoyed your previous set up as well, but I am partial to darker colors (as evidenced by my own scheme) so I probably like this one better. Just my two bits (inflation, you know).

I'm calling it my Gryffinpuff color scheme, in honor of my Hufflepuff Transfigured Hearts Tonks. Glad you like it!

Hope you like Steal, Kill, Destroy when you get to it. And hooray for bribing yourself to write your cocoa smut. Can't wait. :)

I'm so sorry they're making this difficult for you. But go you for keeping on at them. Do you have something like the Citizens Advice Bureau over there?

Totally understandable that you've not had time to work on your story. If you need to talk the story through with someone - don't hesitate to ask.
