Happiness Meme (1/8)

Tags:
mrstater tagged me for the happiness meme that's going around.

Rules:
For eight days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag eight people to do the same.

Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5, Day 6, Day 7, Day 8

It works better for my schedule if I do a post every morning of the things that made me happy the day before so yet again I'm changing the rules of a meme for my own benefit.

Things that made me happy yesterday (Tuesday 9 December):

My morning walk was fantastic yesterday. I started taking a walk every morning it is nice out about two weeks ago and I'm loving it in general thus far, but yesterday was splendiferous. It was unseasonably warm and the sun was shining. As opposed to today when it is even warmer (pushing 70!) but rainy. I went down to this rich housing development, wondered around the streets looking at all the mansions and wondering if anyone can really use that much space, relaxed in the grass beside the little lake in the middle of the development and watched the ducks for a bit and then came on home. I think that spot by the lake may be my new favorite place to lay on a blanket and read come next spring.

Also, yesterday evening was the big unveiling of the beer that two of my fellow grad students have been brewing in a bucket in a closet (close enough). I didn't try any of it since I hate beer, but everyone else said it was yummy so job well done for my friends. What I did do was hang out with some friends and we somehow ended up watching the first three episodes of True Blood. Entertaining but weird is my verdict. I'm not overly interested in watching the show but might eventually pick up the first book after that exposure.

As for tagging eight people, uh…
bratanimus, drumher, kate_scarlet, labellerose, lady_katvic, littlepixiechic, train_lindz, and wildmagelet
If I tagged someone who is already doing it/already been tagged/whatever, apologies. Also, don't feel obligated to do it if I did tag you or anything. I assure you my tagging has no real power or authority in any known universe.

I recently watched True Blood as well. I was entertained, but it didn't make me want to pick up the books which is strange because I normally like to read the books behind anything.

It bothers me the way Bill says Sookie, and I don't think I could get that out of my head if I were reading it. :D

The weird fake Southern accents, including the way he says Sookie, is one of the big reasons I don't think I could watch the show.

It will definitely be a while before I pick up the books, if I ever do. They're on my "Maybe, eventually, someday, when I'm really bored and want brain candy" to read list
