A Week in the Life of bratty_jedi, Volume 2

Tags: , ,
Day two of my week in photos. Not sure what's going on? Check out Day 1 with the explanation here.

8:30 Pretending to work: printing my rosters and checking to make sure I know which classes I'm teaching tomorrow.

9:15 Pretending to work: making sample "Big Letters" to show the kindergarteners. Yes, I'm required to do this and yes, I technically get paid for it. Notice the one "R" is decorated with a rainbow, a rocket, a rabbit, a ring, a rose, and a Rachael. What do these all have in common class?

9:45 Pretending to work: going over lesson plans for my classes tomorrow.

10:45 Pretending to work: still going over lesson plans. Hooray for the time delay feature on digital cameras!

11:30 Dutching: Pick the picture that goes with the sentence at the top.

12:15 Movies: Going to the 12:30 showing of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Funnily enough, I didn't get out of the movie until around 6:00. Full story here.

6:45 Pretending to work again: Taking boxes of supplies I'll need tomorrow out of the office at school and to my car.

7:30 pretending to work again: Taking books I'll need tomorrow out of general inventory (read: my trunk) and moving them to immediate circulation (read: the bin I carry into class every day)

After all that, I'm tired. And I have to get up at 6:30. I think I'm going to take a shower and head for bed very soon!

Considering you spent 5 1/2 hours today with the aim of seeing a movie, you've really spent that many more hours of your life on Indy. You, my dear, are obsessed. ;) Harrison Ford needs to send you a personal thank-you note for his salary.

Have an awesome day of classes! I hope the kiddies are good for you.

I didn't mean to spend 5 1/2 hours on the movie, though. Doesn't that count for something?

I've already decided I should just sign my paycheck over to George Lucas / Lucasfilm Licensing. Do you think i should split it between Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford with Lucas getting the lion's share?

Classes weren't bad. The kids were largely fine but there were a few logistical issues.

Nah, Lucas has far too much money already. Also, he's a hack. ;)

Glad you had a good day, barring logistical issues! Look forward to hearing about it. :)

And Spielberg and Ford are paupers?

I'll get around to LJing and emailing you about my day eventually. Maybe I'll wait and do a couple of days at a time. Right now, pics coming soon for the WitL meme.

And Spielberg and Ford are paupers?

Well no, but they're not hacks. ;)

Oh, and the Dutch -- it's the last picture, isn't it?

If you say so.

Oh, and the Dutch -- it's the last picture, isn't it?
Yeppers! How'd you know?

It's almost identical to German.

That's what I was expecting you to say. Dutch really seems to me to be "Take German and English and throw them into a blender. Add a bit of French for spice. Turn it on high and see what happens."

LOL Now let's see how my translation is for a language I've never studied: The middle-sized bowl stands next to the big bowl and the small bowl?

Pretty much. Since this lesson is about different prepositions, I feel obligated to point out it should be "between" rather than "next to," but close enough.

Oh, I want to make giant letters! So much more fun than anything I ever get to do at work....

I hope you put Indy on your giant "I" ;)

I haven't made a giant "I" but if I do, I will certainly put Indy on it. As soon as I get better at drawing, that is.
