Retraining day 2

Tags:
It is 2:20. Training is supposed to go until 7:00. I've finished everything I'm supposed to do today except for a one hour conference call and done about an hour of tomorrow's work. I even finished the part of Fellowship of the Ring I'm supposed to read. It wasn't as boring as I remembered, but still not what I would call a good read for the most part.

I have to be home for the conference call at 4:35. I think I'm going to go to the library to drop off a couple of books and pick up American Gods since it is finally in. I've got plenty of time.

Ooh, American Gods! So glad to see everyone reading this. I think (hope) you will find it everything FotR wasn't to you. :)

It may take me a little bit to get to American Gods. It was checked out so I got a few other books and put in a request to have American Gods when it was returned. I've got it now, but I've still got a few of the previously checked out books that will be due back first so I should read them first.

Today I read Salman Rushdie's Haroun and the Sea of Stories (around my last day of training). It is a young adult novel so it was a fast read but it is ridiculously fun and well written. I highly recommend it.

Now I've got Dickens' Great Expectations and Turtledove's Opening Atlantis before American Gods. I'm not sure if I'll read Opening Atlantis, though. I'm not really in a Turtledove mood, which is a little odd since I read another of his books a few weeks ago and really loved it. We'll see how I feel after Great Expectations.

EDIT: Oh, and a new Star Wars book comes out on Tuesday. So tomorrow I'll probably finish the Indy novel I started and put on hold weeks ago, then the Star Wars novel on Tuesday, and then Great Expectations and all the rest.
