What words do I use?

Meme ganked from mrstater

1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks.
Depends on the type of ground and the dirtiness of the water. If it is a dirt bed making for muddy water, it is a creek. If it is a rock bed making for clearer water, it is a brook.

2. What the thing you push around the grocery store is called.
Usually, I call it a cart.

3. A metal container to carry a meal in.
Depends on the shape. Generally, I'll go with lunch box.

4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in.
Frying pan or skillet either one.

5. The piece of furniture that seats three people.
Generally, couch, but sometimes sofa.

6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof.

7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening.

8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages.

9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup.

10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself.

11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach.
Depends. Mostly, I'd say swim trunks but there is the ever popular speedo.

12. Shoes worn for sports.

13. Putting a room in order.
Straightening up if I'm just putting things away. Cleaning up if I'm dusting and sweeping and the like.

14. A flying insect that glows in the dark.
Lightning bug.

15. The little insect that curls up into a ball.
Roly poly.

16. The children's playground equipment where one kid sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the other side and goes down.
Usually see saw but I can handle teeter totter.

17. How do you eat your pizza?
Depends on the type of pizza. If it is thin crust, I eat it with my hands. If it is a thicker crust, I use a knife and fork.

18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their used stuff?
Garage sale or yard sale.

19. What's the evening meal?
I call it supper and dinner interchangeably.

20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are?

21. What do you call the thing that you can get water out of to drink in public places?
Water fountain.

Ooh, fun. Will be stealing :)

What insect curls into a little ball??? I can't even think of one let alone what I call it...

According to wikipedia, the thing I call a roly poly is actually a wood louse. It is a little bug that rolls into a ball with plates like an armadillo. They're all over.

I will admit that I do say soda quite a lot -- though only because of Mr. Tater, lol.

Conforming to a nonsensical regional language quirk is rebellion?

I meant people like you who push. Mr. Tater doesn't really harp on it like you do. ;)
