First class

My first class lasted about 15 minutes. I talked too fast. Which is typical for me no matter what but extra typical when I'm at all nervous. I told them that I always talk fast but I'll try to slow down when I'm actually lecturing and they should be taking notes. I think I'm going to tell them on Tuesday to just yell at me if I start going too fast.

We talked a little bit (as in I asked a few questions, got a few answers, and elaborated on the answers I got), I gave them the syllabus, I walked them through the highlights of the syllabus, and they left. The first day really doesn't require much more than that does it?

Now on to the next challenges: writing lectures, delivering my first REAL lecture, and solving my boy issue. Screw it. I'm hungry. I'm ordering a pizza. :)
Feeling: Hungry
Exploring: Desk
Listening: TV - X-Files

15 minutes for the first day is ideal. Your students probably love you already.

Pizza's well-deserved. I want some too!

Since it was rainy and miserable out today, I felt kind of bad for making them trudge to class just for 15 minutes, but I think they'd prefer that over trudging through the rain then sitting through a 80 minute lecture.

Pizza was yummy. I still have half if you want to come get it.

You did make me hungry for pizza, but I've talked Mr. Tater into ordering it tomorrow, so I'll wait and enjoy it fresh. ;)

Did you enjoy your pizza last night?

I did! It was very yummy. Although no one had any good coupons. Did pizza prices go up or something?

They all have deals on multiple pizzas, mostly along the lines of three medium one-topping pizzas for $15. It is almost cheaper to order three mediums than one large but what would I do with that much pizza?

Yes, exactly! We ended up getting a 3-topping large for $11.99 but really we just wanted our usual 1-stopping for $8.99!

Yay for short first classes! And pizza. Pizza rocks.

Hmmmm. Pizza. Thanks for reminding me I should go throw the leftovers in the oven for lunch!
