Photo Meme Part 2

Tags: ,
Many moons ago (actually, probably just over one) I posted the first half of a photo meme. I asked people to name things and then I was supposed to post photos of those things. I got swamped with comps and never quite got to the posting photos bit. Today I decided to rectify that, and then I went camera crazy. I went for a walk, took my camera with me, and came back with about 120 photos to load to my computer. Right now I've just uploaded to LJ the photos for the meme. Some of the rest of the photos might follow in a "Strolling through Williamsburg" picspam. So far I've narrowed the 120 photos down to 40+, so it is getting better but still too many for one post. We shall see.

Photo Meme: I was asked by kileaiya and gilpin25 to take photos of my crappy book bag (since the good book bag and all my purses were shown here), my phone, a favorite item of clothing, a picture on my wall, and the outside of my building.

Bookbag

Bookbag
This is my small, boring bookbag that I carry when I'm not taking my laptop or enough other stuff to justify using the big bag.

Phone - Front

Phone - Front
Front of my cell phone. Hooray Yoda!

Phone - Back

Phone - Back
I'm not a big fan of the prequel trilogy, and I really don't like Haydn Christensen/Anakin Skywalker all that much, but Ewan McGregor/Obi-Wan Kenobi is phone worthy!

Phone - Open

Phone - Open
The screen background is Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie from Empire Strikes Back. Is there anyone who doesn't think the original trilogy is much better than the new one?

Wall

Wall
The two posters are photo mosaics. If you look at them up-close, they are thousands of small photos of scenes from the movies. Far away, the small images blur together to make Vader and Yoda. To the left, you can just see the edge of my window. The dream catcher on the right was a gift from my sister. There is an old Indian legend about a white bison that has fascinated me for a long time, which is why she got this one for me. All of my various tassels from all my graduation ceremonies (middle school, high school, two BAs, and one MA) are hanging from the dream catcher.

Tshirt

Tshirt
The focus of my research interests for my PhD is all the various rebellions, revolutions, uprisings, insurgencies, etc. in the American colonies. I got this t-shirt with this slogan as a way of combining my professional life with one of my hobbies/obsessions.

Tshirt - Close Up

Tshirt - Close Up
Han, Leia, and Luke up close so you can see the design better.

300 Building

300 Building
This is my individual building. My roommate and I are on the middle floor. Her bedroom window is the one closest to the stairwell and mine is the one with the open curtains next to it.

Grad Plex 1

Grad Plex 1
If I am walking to or from campus and the like, I usually leave the Grad Plex this way. It is the boring entrance, but the easiest for walking.

Grad Plex 2

Grad Plex 2
This is the other entrance to the Grad Plex. It faces the parking lot so I use it if I am going to be driving.

Blossom

Blossom
This is a close up of a blossom on one of the trees in front of the Grad Plex. I thought it looked cool.

Grad Plex 3

Grad Plex 3
This is pulled back a bit to give you a better view of the complex. The red hatchback in the lower left corner is my little car.

Mule Barn

Mule Barn
If you stand by my car in the previous photo and look front and right rather then front and left, you see the mule barn. I think the mule barn is cool. (Un)Fortunately, there are no longer mules in residence. Instead, the mule barn is used for storing lawn mowers and the like. Behind the mule barn is the school's tennis complex.

Now I am off to try to determine which of my other pictures might actually interest y'all.

What's Taters, Precious?

I love college campuses. :)

Your phone reminded me of a roomie I had who loved Hayden Christiansen. She had a framed poster of Episode three, and my other roomie and I took a dry-erase marker and embellished Hayeden. I think we gave him devil horns and a mustache, and earrings as well, for some reason. (17th Century Gay Jedi in Drag?)

Looking forward to more pics. :)

I don't get the Hayden love. What is there to love? I would totally have joined in with the devil horns and mustache. The earrings are a bit odd. 17th century gay werewolves, Jedi in drag, house elf slash, a teenager infatuated by a cat!professor, Pink-Eye Moony... I'm starting to think we might need to find a way to contact Mr. Tater to suggest that he get you some professional help. :D

I can't decide about the rest of the pics. I like them all but y'all might very well find them quite boring.

Help? Why would I need professional help? I'm doing just fine on my own!

This is true. But imagine how much more prolific you could be with professional help! You've only come up with, what, for or five in at least as many months? You could do better!

I think you're probably giving me too much credit, but doesn't Pink-Eye Moony count for more than just one? It's a threesome, after all.
Rachael
bratty_jedi at 12:54 am on 30 March 2007 (UTC) (Link)
Threesome is still just one 'ship. You can only count it as more than one if you ship and have names for Remus/Moody and Tonks/Moody. Them the rules. I said so.

Mad-Eye Moony and Pink-Eye Moony. DUH.
Rachael
bratty_jedi at 1:03 am on 30 March 2007 (UTC) (Link)
Don't ya mean Pink-Eye Moody?

Those don't count. You can't just reuse the same name for all aspects of the threesome. I am a brat and demand something new and different for each.

Whoops.

Okay, thinking...

Are those Dogwood trees in the Grad Plex entrance photo? They look like Dogwood trees. They're very pretty. :D

Why am I not surprised you have a Star Wars phone? :P
Rachael
bratty_jedi at 1:02 am on 30 March 2007 (UTC) (Link)
I don't know. I don't know what kind of tree and I don't know why you aren't surprised :-p

I guess they could be Dogwoods. I really have no idea.

The Star Wars phone is cool. I got it when Episode III came out. It was a promo. The phone came with the covers, a couple of Star Wars pictures inside to use as backgrounds, and sounds. My ring tone is the sound of one of the ships flying in space and the alarm is C-3PO going on about odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field. It is very cool!

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing the pics of your homestead! And the trees are fab. Isn't spring grand? :)

As far as my sinuses are concerned, fall is the best season because the weather is nice and everything is dying. Other than the whole sneezing like mad aspect, I love spring!

I've really got to decide which of the other pictures to post. Too many!

Love the t-shirt! Am fascinated by the dream catcher - I've never seen anything like that before. If you're ever snapping again and fancy taking a close-up, just for nosey me... ;) And what's the legend of the white bison?

Blossom is beautiful; makes me feel very spring-like.

The trees are not quite so lovely today. A cold front came in last night and they are shriveling up a bit. I'm sure the full blooms will be back soon.

For all your dream catcher fascination needs, please see here.
