BBC Radio Post: Will probably get up tomorrow, again. This next Sunday's might also be late, but then I should be back on schedule.

Coriolanus w/ Hiddleston: Saw an encore broadcast on Sunday. LOVE! Staging, play itself (which I didn't really know before), acting, etc. all wonderful with only a few nitpicks. Would love to discuss this more with others who've seen it, time permitting on my end.

Papers: Grading sucks. Had them for over a week and grades are due Monday (two weeks from when I got them) and I've still graded less than half. Also on Monday, the students have their midterm exam so as soon as I return the papers, I get exams to grade. Fortunately, exams go much more quickly.

Elementary: My reward. If I grade a few papers, I get to watch an episode of season 1, which I have on DVD from the library. I'm really enjoying it.

Motorcycle: First gorgeous day since my toe was healed enough to ride = YAY! Bike breaking down and leaving me stuck in the parking lot of Barnes and Noble, causing me to miss a meeting with my advisor = SHIT!

Dissertation: Trucking along slowly, as ever. But still trucking so I guess that's something.

I also loved Coriolanus! Happy to talk about it whenever you have time. I also didn't know the play at all before and really liked it, which surprised me because I vaguely assumed that it wasn't as famous as his other work because it wasn't as good... I'm curious to hear more of your thoughts about the whole thing though! Whenever you're free, of course.

Good luck with your grading!

I'll definitely try to write up a few thoughts on Coriolanus this weekend at the latest. I might have time before classes tomorrow morning. We'll see.

Meantime, since you used a Loki icon, have you seen this from a recent comic that seems to make it canon that Loki writes slashfic?

Just FYI in case you are still interested and might miss it otherwise, I finally got around to posting some thoughts on Coriolanus, among other things. They're a bit off the wall, probably, but are about what most caught my attention.

Aaaah Elementary let me fangirl about my babies ♥

where are you at?

S1 was so good and better than S2 tbh, Joan Watson has become almost ornamental - though the lastest episode was much better and on par with others of the first season (maybe because there was Sherlock fanboying about ballet, idk, that was pretty great imo)

eta: are there any extra features on the DVD?

I'm about six episodes from the end, I think. They've done one case together with Holmes officially training Watson after setting up the new non-sober companion arrangement. People I trust all told me that this play on Holmes was a basic American police procedural drama, but an exceptionally well done version of that genre and with fun playing around with the idea of Sherlock Holmes in the background as the on-going character development. That sounded good to me and so far that's exactly what it's been and, as I said in the initial post, I'm very much enjoying it. Sounds like season 2 will be a bit disappointing, but it'll be a while before I see it as I'll again wait until it is on DVD at the library most likely.

The DVD lists what sounds like a bunch of mini documentaries as Special Features, but I haven't watched any of them yet so I don't know for sure. The list is:
A Holmes of Their Own
In Liu of Watson
Holmes Sweet Holmes
Set Tour with Lucy Liu
CBS Launch Promos
The Power of Observation: A Behind-the-Scenes Webseries

It most certainly was! I can even forgive them for charging £20 a ticket!

I loved Coriolanus so much. I expected to enjoy it immensely, because Hiddles, but I was completely blown away by the production and all of the cast.

I finally watched the Elementary pilot yesterday. Been meaning to do that for a while. It was really good, but it did not hit me over the head with its gloriousness. I expect that to happen when I watch some more ;)

I finally got around to posting some actual thoughts on Coriolanus, among other things, but I'm with you on being generally blown away by the production. The minimalism was so brilliantly done to allow for the focus to be on more interesting things than grand Roman sets or whatever.

Elementary Season 1 definitely got better as it went, I think. I don't know the any individual episode completely blew me away, but the cumulative added up to loveliness.
