Top 5 Meme (sort of)

Tags:
A while back there was a meme making the rounds of the flist and I wanted to do it but never got around to it (that's been the running theme of the last year or so of my life, I think). I still really want to do it because it looked like fun but I don't feel like searching back through people's posts for the real meme so I'm just doing it based on what I remember.

Post a comment asking me for my top five anything and I'll answer. In the original this was supposed to be top fives related to a fandom such as top five favorite characters from Star Wars or top five favorite Remus/Tonks moments (fanfic or canon) or top five favorite Hogan's Heroes episodes or... you get the idea. I'll not only take questions along those lines but I'm open to anything, top five movie musicals, top five novel genres or sub genres, top five pie flavors, top five hair ties I currently own, top five classes I've ever taken, whatever. I think it is more fun this way. Ask me anything. Be as creative and off the wall as you want. If you can't think of something to ask, pick one of my examples. If you can think of too many things, ask more than one, but no more than five because if I have to stick to top fives so do you!

Sorry about taking forever to reply. I had to seriously think about this but I finally came up with five.

(1) Brother Bear
Disney animated movie based on a Native American legend. Given Disney's track record with animated films about Indians (Pocahontas) and legends (Hercules), I was skeptical at best going in but I absolutely LOVE this movie.

(2) Jane Eyre
I don't generally like girlie books but rather enjoyed this one.

(3) Harry Potter
I had heard all this hype and decided to try the first book just to see what all the excitement was about even though I was sure it was overrated. I read the first book in a day and immediately went to the store and got the next two. I'm still hooked.

(4) Shakespeare
I'd heard all these great things and then we read Romeo and Juliet in my freshman lit class in high school. It was OK, but nothing special. Then I read Julius Caesar sophomore year and I thought that was pretty good. It was certainly better than Romeo and Juliet but I still wasn't blown away. Then I got to Hamlet in my senior year. Based on my previous exposure, I wasn't expecting much but I was completely blown away.I've read, watched, listened to, etc. several more of Shakespeare's plays and I think the man was totally brilliant. Hamlet will always be my favorite, though.

(5) Highlander
My sister tried telling me about this TV show she liked. She said it was about people who lived forever who chopped each others heads off with swords. I was not impressed by this concept. Then she said they had awesome historical flashbacks so I agreed to give it a try. I love Highlander!

I'm going to go with top five ice cream flavors.

(1) The blueberry ice cream I had at a little ice cream shop on the shore of the Baltic Sea when I was in Germany in 2002. I had some blueberry ice cream in Germany this time too but it wasn't the same.

(2) My Dad's homemade vanilla

(3) Ben And Jerry's Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream. It is caramel ice cream with ribbons of caramel sauce and chunks of waffle cone dipped in chocolate mixed in.

(4) The cherry vanilla thing (I think escape pops up in the name somewhere) that they make at Maggie Moo's. It is sweet cream ice cream with cherries, brownies, caramel and fudge mixed in. Lots of places that mix in things make something with cherries, brownies, and fudge but Maggie Moo's is the only one I know of that has caramel added to it.

(5) Fried ice cream with honey

Now I want ice cream!
